Prison escapee turns self in
A 34-year-old prison escapee, who failed to show up Sunday after he was given a pass to leave for the day, turned himself in to authorities this morning, police said.
The man was granted a day of leave from the Oahu Community Correctional Center on Sunday, but didn’t return that day, police said. Instead he turned himself in to patrol officers in Chinatown three days later. He was booked just before noon on suspicion of second-degree escape and a warrant.
