Hawaii sophomore Kaia Parnaby was named the Verizon Western Atheltic Conference softball pitcher of the week today for her shutout performance against Louisiana Tech.

Parnaby tied a career high with 12 strikeouts in UH’s 4-0 win in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader in Ruston, La. She gave up four hits and posted her fourth shutout of the season.

Parnaby raised her record to 11-3 while lowering her earned-run average to 0.99 entering this week’s home series against Boise State.
