UH women’s basketball names Gavin Petersen assistant

 

Gavin Petersen, a former University of Hawaii women’s assistant coach who most recently was an associate coach at Idaho, has been hired as a women’s assistant coach for the upcoming season.

Peterson spent five years as a manager and assistant coach for the Rainbow Wahine under former head coach Vince Goo.

A two-sport athlete at University High, Peterson spent the past seven years coaching in Idaho. He was first hired as an assistant and them promoted to associate head coach at Idaho State. He later was an associated at Idaho.

“We welcome Gavin back into the Rainbow Wahine basketball ‘ohana,” says coach Dana Takahara-Dias in a press statement. “He returns with a wealth of knowledge and experience and will be a great asset to our program. Gavin take over the reins as our recruiting coordinator while handling our offense. We believe that Gavin will help our program reach the next level.”
