Southbound Kamehameha Highway reopened after crash
Police reopened the southbound lanes of Kamehameha Highway this evening after a car with two females went down a cliff near Kipapa Gulch bridge.
The accident happened about 6:20 p.m., Monday and police closed the southbound lanes.
Firefighters lowered ropes to the two who were able to climb out of the ravine.
The driver, a 52-year-old woman, apparently had a seizure and lost control of the car, which went into the ravine. Heavy foliage slowed the car’s decent. The woman’s daughter, a minor, was also in the car. No major injuries were reported.
