UCLA, USC and Stanford received at-large bids on Monday into the NCAA Women’s Water Polo Championships, with Hawaii left out.

The fifth-ranked Rainbow Wahine beat UCLA this year, but finished sixth in last weekend’s Mountain Pacific Sports Federation tournament. Cal won its first MPSF title, defeating UCLA, 7-6, in the title game to gain the automatic berth.

UH’s Carmen and Monika Eggens, Leonie Van Der Molen and Kelly McKee were honored as all-conference players by the MPSF yesterday.

Junior Monika Eggens, who led the MPSF in scoring, was named to the first team for the second straight year. Carmen Eggens and Van Der Molen, both seniors, earned second-team honors a second straight year.

McKee, a freshman from Calgary, Alberta, earned a place on the all-newcomer team.
