The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office has determined the death of a man found under a Kaimuki bridge on Thursday was accidental.

Autopsy results show the man died of head injuries sustained in a fall from a height, the Medical Examiner’s office said. His name was being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.

Police responded to a report of a man in Palolo Stream beneath St. Louis Drive about 5:15 p.m. Thursday. Authorities said a makeshift home was found beneath the bridge, about 15 feet above a paved portion of the stream.

Police believe the man lived beneath the bridge and slipped and fell.
