Police have broken up a burglary ring on the Windward side involving at least four teenage boys who called themselves the “Cash Crew.”

The burglaries took place between February and April in Kailua and Kaneohe, said Honolulu police spokeswoman Caroline Sluyter.

Officers arrested a 17-year-old and two 16-year-olds on suspicion of first-degree burglary on April 30. They were released and rearrested at the Kaneohe police station yesterday on additional charges of first-degree burglary. A third 16-year-old was booked for investigation of burglary on Wednesday.

Police suspect the teens were involved in at least seven burglaries and believe there may be more suspects and break-ins involved.

Officers recovered some of the items taken, including a flat-screen TV, video game consoles, and a cell phone, but jewelry and cash taken in the burglaries have not been recovered, Sluyter said.

Police released the teens to their parents and turned the case over to prosecutors.
