Randy Yard, Jesse Moore and Lenny Linsky combined to shut out Nevada 4-0 to complete a doubleheader sweep of the Wolf Pack on Saturday at Peccole Park in Reno, Nev.

In the first game, UH rallied from a 6-0 deficit in the first inning to win 8-7 in seven innings.

Hawaii (27-20, 12-4 Western Athletic Conference) assured itself it will remain in first place heading into its final home series of the season starting Thursday against San Jose State.

Linsky retired all five batters he faced in the first game — striking out two — to earn his 11th save.

Zack Swasey finished 3-for-5 with two RBIs and Kolten Wong was 2-for-4 and drove in two runs in the first game.

Swasey came back with a solo homer in the second game and Wong’s RBI single in the seventh gave UH a 3-0 lead.

AJ Bayus, who delivered a two-run homer in the opener, smashed a two-out RBI single in the eighth of the second game to put UH up 4-0.

Swasey, who was moved into the cleanup spot in the lineup, finished 8-for-16 with seven RBIs in the series to boost his average to .326 for the year.

Yard (2-0) allowed four hits in five innings and Moore gave up five hits in three innings as UH held Nevada, which scored 26 runs in the first 23 innings of the series, scoreless in the finale.

The Rainbows are now two games up in the loss column on No. 18 Fresno State, which split a doubleheader on Saturday at Louisiana Tech.

UH finished 5-3 on its current road trip and is 7-6 away from home this season.
