A 5-week-old male baby was discovered unconscious early Monday morning in his bassinet at Schofield Barracks, police said.

The baby was placed in his bassinet at 10 p.m. Sunday, and was found unresponsive at 4 a.m. today, police said.

The military Emergency Medical Services brought the baby to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police said there were no signs of foul play.

The case has been classified as an unattended death.
