A 19-year-old Waipahu man was arrested after attacking his former girlfriend in Ewa Beach twice Sunday afternoon.

Police said the man visited the woman, 19, with whom he used to live, about 4:23 p.m. at her Imelda Street home. After an argument, the suspect struck the victim and damaged property in the home.

He left, but returned half an hour later, forcing his way into the the house and choking her until she almost was unconscious, police said.

The suspect again fled, but officers were able to locate him and arrest him on suspicion of abuse of a household member, first-degree burglary and fourth-degree criminal property damage.
