The City and County of Honolulu is seeking 50,000 donated lei for the graves of veterans.

The city said Friday lei of fresh flowers or ti leaves are needed for the mayor’s Memorial Day ceremony. They need to be 20 to 24 inches long before tying.

The lei are to be placed at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl and other veteran’ cemeteries.

Drop-off containers are to be available at Punchbowl from May 25 to 29 and at various city parks and facilities on May 27.
