Resort spotlights art by Pendarvis

Lihue, Kauai » Kauai Beach Resort will exhibit work by local artist Patrice Pendarvis during its June 2 Art and Wine Thursday at Shutters Lounge.

A reception and exhibition beginning at 5:30 p.m. will feature artwork from Pendarvis’ European Collection.

Wine tasting begins at 6 p.m. with four tastings paired with appetizers.

Art and Wine Thursdays takes place every first Thursday of the month. Call 245-1955.

Buy cruise ticket, get another free

The Star of Honolulu’s Five Star Sunset Dining & Jazz Cruise is offering kamaaina a "buy one, get one free" ticket deal through June.

The cruise features a seven-course classic French-style dinner. The cruise is offered nightly, departing from Pier 8 at Aloha Tower Marketplace at 5:30 p.m. The kamaaina special allows guests with a valid Hawaii ID to purchase one ticket at $162.26 and get a second ticket free.

The special is available via phone or in person only and ends June 30.

Card offers $200 Hilton credit

American Express Travel is offering its card members a $200 hotel credit for every two-night stay at a Hilton Hawaii property.

Guests will receive a hotel credit up to $200, providing up to $800 in savings. Guests can use the credit for dining at the hotels’ onsite restaurants, spa treatments and other activities that have an additional cost.

Mauna Lani cuts kamaaina prices

Kohala Coast » The Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows is reducing prices nearly 50 percent for kamaaina through July 31.

The Mauna Lani was named by Travel & Leisure magazine among the "World’s Best Hotels" for 2011. The luxury hotel is offering a bed-and-breakfast special starting from $230 per night, including daily buffet breakfast for two. A golf package includes two rounds of golf per day per room from $310 (plus tax) at the championship Francis I‘i Brown North and South courses.
