Art and fashion highlight hoppin’ event at C.S. Wo

ABOUT 650 well-dressed guests kept things hopping at C.S. Wo & Sons Saturday night as the Year of the Rabbit was celebrated at the furniture store complex. Welcoming and mingling with guests were Betty and Robert Wo Sr. and their sons Robert "Bub" Jr., Wendell, Scott, Bennet and Mike. Guests enjoyed good food from Spices restaurant and washed it down with champagne, wine, beer and bottled water. Areas where artists Hiroshi Tagami and Michael Powell, and jewelry and men’s shirt designer Amos Kotomori were located were bustling. Models walked the floors wearing Kotomori’s creations. Betty Wo displayed kindness to get Tagami away from his crowded post to chat with Joan Bellinger, who was using a walker. The art will be displayed through June 30. Kotomori’s shirts, sold exclusively at Neiman Marcus, will be at C.S. Wo through June 12. Guests from the entertainment community at the party included singers Danny Kaleikini, Robert Cazimero and , and filmmaker Edgy Lee

THE TAUM FAMILY is more than a little happy. "Hawaii Five-0" will be getting it on for another season as three family members have had roles in the CBS show, two in the original series and one in the new version. Remi Taum, who graduated from Kapiolani Community College with honors this year, had a "Five-0" speaking part this season; her mother, Carolyn Shofner Taum, appeared in the original series; and Remi’s grandfather, also named Remi Taum, was in the original. Young Remi, a 2008 Kaiser High grad, is an intern at Becker Communications. She is also taking acting classes from Wayne Ward. She will attend the University of Hawaii in the fall, focusing on communications and journalism … Hawaii-born sisters Kimberly Wisdorf and Eydie Harridge, now living in California, were on "Wheel of Fortune" Monday, topping two other pairs to win $15,920 in cash and prizes, including a trip to New York …

DESPITE WEAK reviews, I went to see the newest "Pirates of the Caribbean" picture. It is long and sometimes boring, but, hey, superstar Johnny Depp is always hot and some of it was filmed on Oahu and Kauai. The kids will love it. If you do go, be sure to stay after the longest screening of credits I can remember are over. Some good footage follows … "Bridesmaids" sizzles. Don’t take the kids because there is no shortage of sex and raunchiness. It’s sort of a chick-flick "Hangover" with loads of fun and should make Kristen Wiig a star. Jon Hamm shines as a sleazeball playboy …
