Filmmaker Kim Ki-duk scores big win at Cannes

South Korean director Kim Ki-duk completed his trifecta of awards with his best-picture win at the 64th Cannes Film Festival for his film "Arirang" in the Un Certain Regard category. Kim previously won best director at the Berlin Film Festival for "Samaritan Girl" and best director at the Venice Film Festival for "3-Iron," both in 2004. Some of his films shown at the Hawaii International Film Festival include "The Bow," "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter … and Spring" and "The Isle."

"Save the Last Dance for Me"
Episodes 7 and 8

Today, 6:45 p.m.: Eun-soo goes to Seoul to visit her friend Jang-mi and sees Hyun-woo. She runs after him but Hyun-woo doesn’t recognize her. Jang-mi finds out that Hyun-woo had lost his memory and tells Eun-soo. Eun-soo decides to go to Seoul to stay with Hyun-woo.

Today, 7:45 p.m.: Eun-soo decides to get a job at Hyun-woo’s company and goes to the interview but gets humiliated in front of Hyun-woo. She thought she had failed the interview but gets the job with Tae-min’s help. Eun-soo keeps getting in trouble at work, causing Hyun-woo to think badly of her.

"Smile, Mom"
Episodes 42 and 43

Tomorrow, 7:45 p.m.: Hwang Bomi ends up in jail. Bok-hee starts a bucket list. Seo-poong sends Bok-hee an anonymous letter asking her to help Bomi get out of jail. When Bok-hee visits Bomi in jail, Bomi tells her that Hyun-sae has a secret. Yeon-woo and Shin-yong finally get Min-joo’s blessing to get married. Mo-roo finds out Hyun-sae’s secret.

Tuesday at 7:45 p.m.: The whole family finally finds out that Bok-hee is the other patient. Bok-hee refuses to get surgery. Soon-ja and Dong-poong won’t speak to Seo-poong, so Seo-poong decides to leave. Mo-roo admits to embezzling company funds and quits. Then he blackmails Hyun-sae by asking him for a job at Jaeil Newspaper.

"49 Days"
Episodes 13 and 14

Wednesday, 7:45 p.m.: Gang pretends not to know that Ji-hyun’s soul is in Yi-gyung’s body and becomes nicer to her. Ji-hyun is worried about Gang’s sudden change in attitude. Gang decides to look into Ji-hyun’s father’s business to find out why Ji-hyun hid her stamp in his place.

Thursday, 7:45 p.m.: Ji-hyun finds Yi-gyung’s yearbook. She realizes Song Yi-soo looks just like Scheduler and takes the yearbook to show him the picture. But Scheduler insists that he couldn’t possibly have had any relationship with Yi-gyung. Gang finds Ji-hyun’s letter to her father.

"New Tales of Gisaeng"
Episodes 25 and 26

Friday, 7:45 p.m.: Eo-san and Soon-deok meet with the fortuneteller. He tells Soon-deok only good days await her and that she’ll soon find her daughter when she marries Eo-san. Hwa-ran is excited and fantasizes about marrying Eo-san. But her fantasy is shattered when Eo-san asks for her help in marrying Soon-deok.

Saturday, 7:45 p.m.: Damo asks for a day off on Sa-ran’s birthday and takes her out to dinner. Soon-deok goes to Eo-san’s house every day to win Grandma’s permission to marry Eo-san. Gang-san’s wife mistakes Soon-deok for a housekeeper. Sa-ran tells Damo she was adopted and that they’ll never be able to be together, but Damo tells her he’ll find her parents.
