A free Kauai workshop on natural hazard preparedness is being offered to the public.

Kauai Civil Defense said in a news release Tuesday topics to be discussed include evacuation planning, tsunami warnings and homeowner retrofit measures. 

The workshop is sponsored by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Sea Grant Coastal Program, Kauai Civil Defense and the University of Hawaii.

Other agencies are to have educational booths offering additional information and services to homeowners.

The event is to be held June 16 at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall.
