The U.S. Postal Service continues to deny acceptance of mail bound for Canada, due to a Canadian Union of Postal workers strike. 

Since Saturday, USPS suspended delivery services to Canada. 

“We have not heard widespread concerns from Hawaii-based Canadian officials, nor from local businesses or individual customers, about the impact of the Canada mail strike,” said Duke Gonzales, Hawaii spokesperson for USPS.

Gonzales couldn’t comment on how long this suspension will last. 

 USPS customers can still send letters and packages via Global Express Guaranteed. GXG, a service provided by USPS, is an international shipping option that’s delivered by FedEx Express. However, only seven post offices on Oahu provide the GXG service: the main office on Aolele Street, downtown office on Merchant Street, Waikiki, Waialae-Kahala, Kapalama, Makiki and Hawaii Kai. 

FedEx and UPS are other options for mail delivery needs to Canada. Both are continuing its normal shipping services.
