Pearl Harbor-based ship USS Paul Hamilton returns
A Pearl Harbor-based guided-missile destroyer is returning home after a seven-month deployment to Asia and the Middle East.
The USS Paul Hamilton is due to arrive at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam on Wednesday.
While deployed, the ship and its crew helped the Iraqi government by protecting the nation’s maritime infrastructure. They also operated together with the Iraqi navy, and participated in a defense exercise run by Bahrain.
The destroyer is named after the third Secretary of the Navy who served under President James Madison from 1809 to 1813.
