Maui motorcyclist dies after hitting tree
A motorcycle crash killed a 28-year-old Kihei man early Sunday morning in Wailea, Maui police said.
Police identified him as Kenneth J. Talbot III.
Talbot lost control of his Kawasaki motorcycle at 12:27 a.m. on a turn on Wailea Alanui Drive about a mile north of Kuakahi Street, police said.
The motorcycle struck a median and a tree. Talbot apparently was not wearing a helmet, and died at the scene, police said.
Speed, drugs and alcohol are being investigated as possible factors in the crash.

Diver killed after being struck by boat
A 51-year-old man was killed Sunday morning when he apparently was run over by a tour boat in Kaumalapau Harbor in Lanai.
The man was reportedly free diving when he was struck by a Zodiac operated by a local tour company around 10:30 a.m., the Maui Fire Department said.
No one on the boat was reported injured.
