A 32-year-old suspect who allegedly threatened a woman and another man with a handgun in Waikiki was stopped and arrested a short time later while driving on H-1 Freeway in Waikele early this morning, police said.

The man, of an Ewa Beach address, allegedly fled in his car after making the threats and was stopped by an off-duty police officer helping to search for the suspect on the freeway just prior to the westbound Waikele offramp around 3:40 a.m.

He is being held pending charges of first-degree terroristic threatening, driving with a suspended license and a firearms charge.
