Dowsett becomes assistant police chief
Honolulu Police Department veteran Susan Dowsett was promoted to the rank of assistant chief this week.
Dowsett, a 28-year veteran, has been the major in charge of the Narcotics/Vice Division the last three years.
She is one of two women among the six assistant chiefs. Her position was made available following the retirement of Bryan Wauke this summer.
Police Chief Louis Kealoha also promoted three officers to major, four to captain, eight to lieutenant, 10 to sergeant and 16 to corporal on Wednesday. HPD declined to release their names.
