3 held in Waikiki counterfeit currency case

Police arrested three people in connection with counterfeit money this morning in Waikiki.

According to police, a 51-year-old Waikiki man attempted to pay for services with counterfeit bills. He also allegedly paid another man with counterfeit money.

As he was being arrested, a 40-year-old Moiliili woman also attempted to pay for services using fake bills.

As the woman was being arrested, she told officers that she had received the money from a 49-year-old man with no local address.

Police located and arrested the second man and in the process of a routine search found drugs and drug paraphernalia.

The 51-year-old man was arrested on two counts of forgery. The woman was arrested for forgery and seven counts of contempts. The third suspect faces charges of forgery and numerous drug-related offenses.
