Staffing shortage to close Hawaii island library for a month
The Kealakekua Public Library on Hawaii island will close for a month because of a staffing shortage, state library officials said.
The library will be closed from Sept. 3 through Oct. 2. During that time patrons can visit the Kailua-Kona Public Library, at 75-138 Hualalai Road, officials said Thursday.
The Kealakekua library’s book drop will also be closed but patrons can return borrowed items to any other public library during the month.
For more information, call the Kealakekua Public Library at 323-7585 before Sept. 2, or go to the Hawaii State Public Library System website at www.librarieshawaii.org.
