Man charged with starting fire in Waikiki hotel
An 18-year-old Haleiwa man was charged today with allegedly setting a fire in a women’s restroom in a Waikiki hotel.
Witnesses told police they saw the man light the fire, which caused about $50 in damage to an unspecified hotel about 8:30 p.m. Aug. 9, police said.
The man was detained today at his Haleiwa Beach Road home and charged with fourth-degree arson. Bail was set at $100.
