A 3-year-old girl went to the hospital after nearly drowning at a beach in Waianae.
The girl was playing in the ocean about 10:30 a.m. Saturday when a wave knocked her over, rolling her several times, according to dispatch reports.
She was underwater for about half a minute and was unresponsive when picked up.
Paramedics took her to the Kapiolani Medical Center in serious condition.
