The National Weather Service says conditions are right for funnel cloud development and another one could appear this afternoon.

A funnel cloud formed over Central Oahu Wednesday afternoon..

Police reported several people in the Wahiawa district pulled over on the side of the road about 5:15 p.m., taking photos of the funnel cloud over Kunia, near the Royal Kunia Country Club.

Shortly after forming, the cone-shaped formation began receding into higher clouds, the police reports said.

Forecasters say today’s weather will be similar to Wednesday. Hot, humid weather will again cause afternoon heating and the development of rain clouds over land and the potential for more funnel cloud development.

Expect tradewinds and more usual windward and mauka showers to return this weekend.
