Maui police identified a motorcyclist killed Monday in Kahului as 32-year-old Saul W. Saunders.
Saunders was riding a motorcycle about 10:55 p.m. heading north on Mokulele Highway when he collided with an industrial truck heading east on Cane Haul Road crossing Mokulele.
Police said the motorcyclist had the red stop signal.
The motorcycle caught on fire after the impact, police said.
This was the 15th traffic-related fatality and the sixth motorcycle fatality this year for Maui County.
