Bicyclist critically injured in crash with mo-ped in Ewa Beach

A 73-year-old Ewa Beach man was critically injured in a collision with a mo-ped Tuesday night in Ewa Beach.

The crash happened about 6:50 p.m. on Fort Weaver Road near Aekai Place, police said.

The man was riding toward town in the Waianae-bound parking lane when he veered right into a bike lane and collided with a mo-ped also traveling in the wrong direction in the bike lane.

The cyclist was not wearing a helmet and sustained head injuries. The mo-ped rider, a 49-year-old Ewa Beach man, sustained minor injuries.
