A man sustained a leg injury Tuesday after he was hit by a pickup in an apparent attempted murder in Kahaluu.

Police said the man was hurt in a crash near the Hygienic Store, in the 47-520 block of Kamehameha Highway, about 2:25 p.m.

The man was standing before a pickup truck stopped about six feet away when the driver hit the gas and pinned the man’s leg into a wall, emergency dispatch reports said.

Police detained a suspect and opened an attempted-murder case.
