A 21-month-old boy nearly drowned Saturday in a swimming pool in Hawaii Kai.
A family member saw the boy walking along the edge of the pool just before he was found face down in the water about 4 p.m., according to emergency dispatch reports. He was in the water for about 2 minutes before someone pulled him out.
A neighbor, who heard the family member’s cry for help, jumped over the fence and pushed on the boy’s stomach to get him breathing, the reports said.
Paramedics took the boy to the hospital in serious condition, an Emergency Medical Supervisor said.
