Man allegedly steals car with 11-year-old girl inside
A 35-year-old Kailua man was arrested Friday after stealing a vehicle with an 11-year-old girl inside in McCully, police said.
The girl’s father, 40, left the vehicle running with his daughter inside about 9:15 a.m. When the 35-year-old man tried to take the vehicle, the father was able to stop him and hold him until officers arrived, police said.
Officers arrested the man on Nanea Street for investigation of car theft and kidnapping. He was later released, pending investigation.
