Video: ABC News reports on Schofield soldiers in Afghanistan
Schofield Barracks soldiers serving in Afghanistan spent Thanksgiving on the front lines of the war in Afghanistan.
Troops from the 2/27, the “Wolfhounds,” are on the border with Pakistan.
ABC News Nightline and White House reporter Jake Tapper visited with Schofield Barracks soldiers in a report that aired Thursday.
Tapper reported that the soldiers’ mission is to protect a road on the Ghaziabad Pass, a road that may provide economic security for the people who live in the area.
But the road is dangerous. Eight Schofield soldiers have been killed since the 2/27 deployed to Afghanistan in May.
