UH-Hilo student reports robbery attempt on campus
Hawaii County police were looking for a man who tried to rob a 24-year-old female student Tuesday night at the University of Hawaii at Hilo campus.
Police said the man accosted the woman and tried to take items from her. The woman hit the man and he ran away, police said.
Police said the woman suffered minor injuries and declined medical treatment.
The man was described as 5 feet 8 and thin; he wore a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
