    Police responded to a care home on Apowale Street in Waipahu at about 3 a.m. after a man was stabbed.

Police arrested a 44-year-old care home client this morning after a caregiver was stabbed at a Waipahu residential care facility this morning.

Police said the victim, Oscar Anunciacion, 55, was stabbed several times and was taken to a hospital in good condition, and was shortly released.

The incident happened about 3 a.m. today at the Ewa end of Apowale Street.

Police said the suspect allegedly walked out of his room and stabbed Anunciacion, who was asleep in the living room.

Two family members of the victim heard the caregiver yelling for help and wrested the knife away from the attacker before calling 911.

Police arrested the suspect at the care home.
