HATTIESBURG, Miss. >> Southern Miss fans who can’t travel to the Hawaii Bowl are preparing to watch it on television. But they might have a tough time finding an open sports bar when the game is played on Christmas Eve.

The Hattiesburg American reports several local restaurants and bars, including the Keg and Barrel and Mugshots, are closing because of the holiday.

Among those remaining open are a restaurant called The End Zone, where manager Gale Walker says folks will cheer for the Golden Eagles. The same goes for Sidelines Sports Grill in Oak Grove and a local Buffalo Wild Wings.

Conference USA champion Southern Miss faces Western Athletic Conference runner-up Nevada.
