A 77-year-old man who sustained critical injuries when he was struck by an unlicensed driver in Ewa Beach last month has died.

The incident happened at Fort Weaver Road and Kilaha Street about 9:20 a.m. on Jan. 16, police said.

A car was turning left from Ewa Beach Road onto Fort Weaver when he struck the pedestrian, who was in a marked crosswalk from the Kilaha side to the Ewa Beach Road side, police said.

The pedestrian was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition. The Honolulu Police Department’s Traffic Division said it was told by medical examiners that the man died. The man’s identity or the time of his death have not been released.
