Firefighters contain brush fire near Tripler
Firefighters planned to continuing putting out hot spots tonight after containing a one-acre brush fire in a hard-to-reach area above Tripler Army Medical Center.
The fire was reported at 6:13 p.m. near Reasoner and Jarrett White roads and was still smoldering in a ravine among pine needles shortly before 10 p.m., said Honolulu fire Capt. James Todd.
Four engines, two tankers, and a helicopter were dispatched to the fire and were later joined by two federal fire trucks.
The fire did not threaten any structures, Todd said. No one was hurt.
