Medical Examiner identifies victim in Waikiki pedestrian accident
The Medical Examiner’s Office identified the 68-year-old pedestrian killed Thursday while crossing Kalakaua Avenue in a crosswalk as Raymond Groeschner.
Groeschner, of a Honolulu address, died of multiple blunt force injuries from the crash, the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office said.
Police said a 37-year-old Texas woman was possibly speeding when the 2011 Jeep she was driving in the right-most lane of Kalakaua Avenue hit the pedestrian at Kealohilani Avenue about 12:30 p.m.
He was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in serious condition, but died that afternoon, police said.
