Police responded to two separate multiple-vehicle crashes in the Hirano Tunnel on the H-3 freeway and the Wilson Tunnel on Likelike Highway Friday afternoon.

A chain-reaction crash in the Hirano Tunnel about 5 p.m. — apparently connected to rain —  prompted police to close one lane in the Kaneohe-bound direction until the vehicles could be removed. Police said rain was hampering visibility in the area around Hirano Tunnel.

One Kaneohe-bound lane of the Likelike Highway closed because of a crash about 4:30 p.m. in the Wilson Tunnel, which callers initially reported involved about 10 vehicles.

No major injuries were reported in both crashes.
