A 26-year-old man suffered critical head injuries Sunday after the mo-ped he was driving stuck a parked car in Honolulu.

The man was driving a mo-ped south on Paki Avenue, when he was distracted and veered off the road striking a parked car at about 6:24 p.m. Sunday.

The crash, about 835 feet east of Noela Street, occurred in a dimly lit area with light rain, and speed might have been a factor, police said.

The man, who suffered head and critical internal injuries and was not wearing a helmet, was taken to Queen’s Medical Center, police said.
