Juniors win combined performance award in Kamehameha song contest

The junior class of 2013 won the Charles Edward King trophy for best combined class performances, while the seniors won the Helen Desha Beamer Award for best musical performance in the 92nd annual Kamehameha Schools Song Contest Friday night at the Blaisdell arena.

The juniors took the George Alanson Andrus Cup for best mens’ performance, while the senior women won the New England Mothers’ Cup in the girls’ competition.

The senior women and junior co-ed classes tied for the Richard Lyman Jr. Olelo Makuahine Award for excellence in the use of Hawaiian language. 

The Louise Aoe McGregor Award for student director went to Dezarae Le’i, the student director of the freshman class.
