KAHULUI » Maui police identified two motorcyclists who died in Maalaea Sunday as Abel Ventura Jr. and Marlene Debnam, both of Wailuku. 

Both Ventura, 58, and Debnam, 56, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene at about 5:13 p.m. 

Police said they were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

Ventura and Debnam were participating in a St. Patrick Day motorcycle rally with more than 50 other motorcyclists Sunday afternoon. 

Ventura was operating a red 1988 Harley Davidson traveling south on Honoapiilani Highway when the motorcycle crossed the double solid yellow line and collided into a grey 1988 Toyota pick-up traveling north on the highway, police said. 

Police said the motorcycle then collided with a red 2007 Toyota pick-up truck. 

Meanwhile, the grey Toyota veered into the southbound lane of North Kihei Road after being struck by the motorcycle. To avoid a crash, a 46-year-old man traveling south in a maroon 2010 Harley Davison braked and skidded and was struck from behind by a black 1975 Harley.

Police said the 46-year-old motorcyclist suffered lacerations to his left elbow and calf and was treated and released at the Maui Memorial Medical Center.

Police said there other motorcycles struck the grey Toyota in the southbound lane, One of the motorcycles was a black 2004 Yamaha motorcycle operated by Debnam and a black 1988 Harley operated by a 56-year-old woman. 

The 56-year-old woman suffered a fractured left arm and injuries to her left knee. She went to Maui Memorial Medical Center,  where she was treated and released.
