Firefighters brought a small attic fire under control tonight in the Waialae-Kahala area.

Firefighters received a call about an odor of smoke at 8:33 p.m. and found a fire in the attic space of a home in the 1100 block of Waiholo Place, said Honolulu fire Capt. Gary Lum.

Firefighters brought the fire under control by 8:46 p.m., but were still searching about a half-hour later for any fire that may have spread to other areas of the attic. The cause and a damage estimate were not yet determined.
