Waikiki woman, 19, arrested after allegedly assaulting taxi driver
Police arrested a 19-year-old woman for allegedly assaulting a taxi driver after not paying her fare in Waikiki early Satureday morning.
The woman was dropped off in Waikiki about 2:23 a.m. The taxi driver, 56, tried to detain the woman and called police. The woman then assaulted him and fled the scene.
Officers located the suspect at an Ala Wai Boulevard address and arrested on suspicion of first-degree robbery.
The victim was treated at the scene for his injuries.
