Kamehameha students evacuated because of gas leak
Students from Kamehameha elementary and middle schools were evacuated for about an hour this morning after workers at the middle school campus broke a gas line.
No injuries were reported.
A contractor was during excavation work at 8 a.m. today when the one and a quarter inch gas line was broken sending synthetic natural gas into a trench, fire officials reported.
The line was repaired at 8:45 a.m.
