No tsunami generated from 7.0 quake in Papua New Guinea
A magnitude 7.0 earthquake rocked the Eastern New Guinea region of Papua New Guinea, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reported.
No destructive tsunami was generated, the center said.
The quake hit at 9:13 p.m., Hawaii time, 275 miles north of Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, 88 miles north of Lae, New Guinea, and 89 miles east of Madang, New Guinea.
The epicenter was at a depth of 125 miles.
