Broken pipe causes flooding at Hawaii Medical Center East
Honolulu Fire Department personnel are on scene at the Honolulu Medical Center East where a broken pipe on the second floor led to significant flooding on the first floor.
Water and electricity have been shut off while firefighters attempt to clear away the water, according to HFD spokesman Capt. Robert Main.
It is not known whether the flooding occurred in the vacant area of the now-defunct hospital or in one of the areas still used by private practitioners.
The flooding was first reported around 7:30 p.m.
