Abercrombie on personal leave until Friday
Gov. Neil Abercrombie will be taking personal leave starting today through Friday, according to a release from the governor’s office.
Abercrombie will be visiting family in New York. Lt. Gov. Brian Schatz will be acting governor until he leaves on Friday to Taiwan and Korea. Schatz will meet with officials there, including the Taiwanese president, to promote tourism in Hawaii and sign a Memorandum of Understanding on energy cooperation.
Schatz departs on Friday morning. State Attorney General David Louie will serve as acting governor until Abercrombie returns at 5:30 p.m. that day.
