Aunt calls police after runaway niece shows up in stolen car
The aunt of a 15-year-old car theft suspect called police when her niece showed up at her Waianae area home with a 17-year-old friend in an allegedly stolen car.
Police said the two girls were runaways and when they arrived at the younger girl’s aunt’s house at about 7:30 p.m. Monday, the aunt questioned her niece about the car and called police, who determined the car had been stolen at about 6:37 p.m. Monday.
Officers arrested the two runaways at 8:40 p.m. for investigation of car theft and driving a stolen car.
