Man held for drugs after allegedly stealing mo-ped

Police arrested a 51-year-old man for drug charges Sunday after was stopped for taking a mo-ped during a robbery in Waianae, police said.  

Police said the man punched another man and stole his mo-ped about 5:10 p.m.

Officers responded and saw the man driving a vehicle on Puhulu Road with a mo-ped sticking out of the trunk. 

When officers stopped the driver, they saw a glass pipe on the driver’s side floor. 

The man, of a Waianae address, was arrested for investigation of two drug counts and driving without a license. 

Police said the victim withdrew his complaint about the robbery.
