Papipi Drive home destroyed in afternoon Ewa Beach fire
A fire destroyed an older three-bedroom Ewa Beach house on the 91-000 block of Papipi Drive Tuesday afternoon, leaving a family of four homeless.
No one was injured, and no one was home at the time of the fire, said Fire Capt. Terry Seelig said.
A father and his two sons and brother live at the home, Seelig said. One son is in his late teens, the other is in his 20s.
A second house received some heat damage to its eaves and roof, but it was not significant, he said.
Firefighters responded to the 2:23 p.m. call, the first company arriving on scene in five minutes.

When they arrived, the house was totally involved in flames, Seelig said.
The blaze was brought under control at 2:40 p.m. and was extinguished at 3:26 p.m.
Seelig said there was substantial damage throughout the single-wall construction house. Most of the roof had collapsed.
